ちょっと思うこと：

最近の、政治家の発言が、海外でも話題になっている原因の１つは、彼らの発言の英語訳です。
政治家がいったことを、そのまま直訳,つまり、本音をそのまま翻訳するような翻訳家なら、かなり危険です。
直訳ではなく、周囲に事情やその政治家の発言の意図まで考慮した訳文で、かつ内容を逸脱しない高度な訳をする必要があります。
たとえば、某官僚の左翼の「クソども・・・」の発言ですが、そのまま　
"be not worth shit"　クソども（shit=糞）
"lefty group who are not worth shit."
"糞にも値しない左翼の人間"と直訳すれば、相手の人格を完全に否定することになります。絶対に訳してはいけないことです。こんな直訳的な英訳をすれば、世界中の人が日本人のモラルの低さや低文化を避難します。

こういう時は、
"left-leaning poeple who are pursuiting severity"
「厳しく追求する左翼系の人たち」
このぐらいにしておけば何の問題もないのですが・・
"Japanese who are not worth shit"
「日本人のくそども・・」と訳されたら、日本人はどう思うでしょうか？・・・
発言した人間にミサイルを打ち込みたくなりますね。

こういう時は、
"日本人ってちょっと分からないところがあるんだなあ"
 "ぐらいで訳しておけば、何の問題も起こりません。無事平和です。発言者の言いたい事もほぼ理解できます。

私の訳は、こういうコンセプトが基本になっています。
言葉１つで、人は幸せを感じる反面、反感も感じます。
私のメールマガジンの訳文はそういうことを十分に考慮していて直訳はできる限り避けています。もちろん、記事の内容は逸脱していません。
読んでくれる人を意識して、「言葉」を一番大事にしています。
さらに、（　）で主語等を補っているので、何がどうだで混乱することはありません。
自信をもって毎日発行しています。
