しかし、海外のジャーナリストが執筆する英語はこういった構成はごく普通です。彼らは日本人に向けて書いているわけではありませんので。多読して慣れるしか方法がありません。
こういう場合は、文章をこまめに分割するのが良い方法です。

どれが主語だ、どれが述語だ、どれが関係代名詞などと探している間にランチタイムになってしまいます(´・ω・｀)
この基本的にフレーズごとに分割して読みやすく、分かりやすくしているのが『辞書なしで超速読月刊英語ニュース』です。
また、「結果となった」の語彙はありませんが、ニュースの筆者はこう伝えたいと思っていると予想して、直訳よりより適切に訳しています。
ニュースのこの部分だけでも。空売りやストップ・ロスの用語もわかっていなくてはなりません。一部の用語の解説も本文につけています。
(※stop-loss: ストップ・ロス: 損失を一定のレベルに限定するための反対売買。相場が自分にとって不利な方向に動いた場合に、その損失を一定のレベルで抑えるために出しておく逆指値。)
ついでに、空売りの意味は、
株の空売りとは、証券会社から株を借りて売却し、その株が値下がりした時点で買い戻す事で利益を得る投資方法の事です。
例を挙げて説明すると、現在10万円のA社の株を借り、その場で売却すれば10万円が手に入りますよね。その後A社株が9万円に値下がりした時に、再び買い戻せば、費用は9万円で済みます。これで借りていた株を返却すれば、差し引き1万円の利益が手に入ります（別途手数料等が必要）。つまり空売りで儲けを出す為には、通常とは逆に「将来値下がりしそうな株」をあえて狙う事になります。但し通常とは異なるリスクもあります
